Amid Pandemic, M&M Transport Services, Inc. Keeps on Trucking
September 9, 2020
West Bridgewater, MA – Reliable transportation and logistics services have never been so critical to the health, safety, and well-being of American citizens. Family-owned and operated M&M Transport Services, Inc. has remained steadfast in their commitment to providing efficient, effective, and safe service to their customers during the year of M&M Transport’s 30th anniversary.
Among their plans for celebrating this milestone in the company’s history, navigating a pandemic was not one of them. Owner and founder Mark R. Warsofsky along with his son Adam have been working hard to keep as many drivers on the road as possible, being asked to pick up extra runs for notable grocery stores and food manufacturers while their retail business slowed.
When it became apparent that the Pandemic was going to affect supply chains back in March, Mark and his team made a commitment to their drivers and employees that they would be transparent in everything they would be doing. Offices were locked down, PPE was secured for drivers, new cleaning procedures were put in place, and meals and gift cards were provided to drivers and employees.
“We have a lot of dedicated, long-term employees. We are fortunate to have a great staff who got us to 30 years.” Mark said, appreciative of the hard-working team behind him.
With the summer waning, the team at M&M feels confident in their new processes and has been able to breathe a brief sigh of relief as more and more of their drivers return to work and orders begin picking up.
Founded in April of 1990 with one Mack R model and Mark behind the wheel delivering for famous toy store Child World and other local retailers, Mark’s wife Dawn was dispatching calls from their home in Marshfield. Through a relationship-driven approach to business, M&M has grown to a fleet of over 500 trucks, employing more than 700 employees headquartered in West Bridgewater, MA with offices and terminals in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Indiana, Missouri, and Arizona.
“We have no salespeople, it’s word of mouth and good reputation.” Said Mark, describing the company’s growth over the years.
M&M and its employees are known in the communities they serve for their active support of local charities. From Cradles to Crayons and Wreaths Across America, to delivering much needed supplies to Mount Sinai Hospital in New York in the early days of the Pandemic.
